Well, Salam mama friends from all over the globe! While everyone else in the world is having a summer break, here in Australia we are having our winter holidays 🙂Â
Actually, everything in Australia is the opposite, which we sort of got used to and absolutely love 🙂 That’s just a side note for all of you wondering why on earth I am writing about winter breaks now.Â
So let’s get into it my top fun indoor activities for kids during winter breaks.Â
1. Spend Time Cooking With Your Kids.
Cooking is always fun, and all kids absolutely love it. Make some time to cook their favourite snacks, like cupcakes or cookies, and enjoy the process. Don’t make the eventual mess stop you from enjoying your time with your children. Instead, make it even more fun by teaching them to clean after themselves.Â

2. Play Board Games Together.
Okay, apart from spending time together, board games have many benefits such as:
- Helps your child to focus.
- Gets their brain buzzing as they solve the puzzle.
- Helps them learn new vocabulary, especially during games that come with reading books.
- Provides an opportunity to learn new information.
- Teaches them about teamwork.
- Helps them lessen anxiety.
And many more! Most importantly, board games are a great way to unplug and spend great time together as a family.Â
3. Have Fun Painting Together.
Kids enjoy painting. Experience all those different colours, it will entertain them for hours. No matter what age, they will never get bored of painting a new piece that relates to your child’s interest.Â
Having said so, if you realise your child is not an art person, especially older kids, I found downloading an arts app on the iPad can be of help as an alternative.Â

4. Give Dollar Store Crafts A Try.
You will be amazed what you can do with dollar store crafts. Search on Pinterest or on Google to get an idea of the craft your child wants to create, depending on their interests. Set a budget and go visit the dollar store with your child. Trust me, it will be a fun experience.Â
5. Enjoy hot chocolate and marshmallows together while watching a movie.
This is my favourite to be honest, I might enjoy it more than the kids do :), as I get to rest, drink my favourite cuppa, and spend time with my children. And as for the children, they will be over the moon, especially the big kids. Make sure to make this experience extra memorable by including your children in preparing the hot chocolate, getting them their favourite mugs, and creating a cozy environment.Â
Hope this post was helpful! Now it’s your time to create those beautiful memories. Do share with me in the comment section which ones you will try this holiday with your kids.Â
